Punjab Police Fully Prepared for Muharram Security Arrangements, Says IG Punjab

According to Shiite News, an important meeting regarding security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram was held at the Central Police Office Lahore under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Karim.

The meeting reviewed a comprehensive security strategy to ensure the peaceful conduct of religious gatherings (majalis) and mourning processions across the province. The IG Punjab directed that all security arrangements for majalis and processions be completed before the start of Muharram and that the security SOPs issued by the Home Department be implemented in letter and spirit.

The IG Punjab stated that, given the current strategic situation in the region, Muharram security is more sensitive and challenging than ever before. He instructed all officers to perform their professional responsibilities with utmost dedication.

He further said that anti-state elements may attempt to disrupt law and order through terrorism, mischief, and sectarian hatred, but Punjab Police is fully prepared to thwart any such plans.

The IG also directed Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to maintain close coordination with peace committees, religious scholars of different schools of thought, organizers of majalis and processions, and other stakeholders.
