Sher Afzal Marwat Raises Voice for Shia Pakistanis Deported From UAE
Sher Afzal Marwat Calls Mohsin Naqvi’s Statement on Deportation of Shia Pakistanis From UAE “Misleading”
According to ShiiteNews, Member of the National Assembly and prominent lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat strongly raised his voice on the assembly floor in support of Shia Pakistanis allegedly being forcibly deported from the United Arab Emirates.

During his speech, he said that he met numerous Pakistanis in the UAE and listened to their stories. He claimed that more than 18,000 people from Parachinar alone — most of whom belong to the Shia sect — had been deported back to Pakistan. He further alleged that their jobs had been terminated, their visas were not renewed, and that currently no Pakistani can open a company there, become a business partner, or extend a work permit.
Marwat stated that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had described these claims as false. He added, “Mohsin Naqvi himself is a Naqvi and traces his lineage to Imam Ali al-Naqi (AS), belonging to the family of Imam Hussain (AS). How can he make misleading statements regarding people of his own sect?”
Sher Afzal Marwat further alleged that Pakistanis in the UAE are detained for ten days before deportation and are subjected to harsh treatment during detention. He claimed that their clothes are removed and videos are made of them. He added that while the Pakistani government talks about maintaining peace between the United States and Iran, it should at least show some courage in dealing with an Arab country on this issue.
