Quetta: Youth Dies in Police Custody, Strong Reaction from Allama Ali Hasnain Hussaini

ShiiteNews: The provincial leader of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Balochistan and Imam Juma of Quetta, Allama Ali Hasnain Hussaini, has expressed serious concern over the situation that arose following the mysterious death of a young man from Quetta in police custody.

In his statement, he said that the father of the deceased has accused the police of taking his son from their home, and then informing them six days later that his son had committed suicide.

He added that the father’s claims and allegations have caused deep concern among citizens. He further stated that people expect the police to provide protection; however, this recent incident has cast doubt on the role of the police itself. Therefore, we demand from the IG Police, DIG Quetta, and other high-ranking officials that a transparent investigation into this incident be conducted as soon as possible, and that those involved be given the strictest punishment according to the law.
