pollA vast majority at an opinion poll expressed support to the Presidential order for Governor Rule in Baluchistan.

Renowned TV channel “Geo News” in collaboration with the Gallup Survey of Pakistan had asked people to give their opinion at an online poll whether the Federal Government’s decision to impose Governor Rule in Baluchistan was right or wrong?

The opinion was sought from at least 2500 people and of them 61% had endorsed the decision saying it was right decision. 24% termed it wrong decision and 15% gave no opinion.

Governor Rule was enforced in Baluchistan under article 234 of the Constitution of Pakistan on the demand of the heirs of martyrs of Alamdar Road Quetta Tragedy and Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen. The MWM had held countrywide sit-in protest that mustered support from almost all major political parties of Pakistan.

Some parties mainly JUI-F began a campaign against the Governor Rule. The MWM and their allies have made clear that the incompetent and failed government of Aslam Raeesani was sacked on merit and Governor Rule was in accordance with the Constitution. Therefore, protest against a constitutionally legitimate decision of the federal government is unjustifiable.
