Shiite News: Parliamentary leader of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Engr. Hameed Hussain, attempted to present a resolution in the National Assembly condemning the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and recent military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran.
However, according to parliamentary sources, the resolution faced resistance and could not proceed immediately due to political disagreements within the house.
The resolution was intended to strongly condemn the assassination of Khamenei and express solidarity with Iran amid the escalating regional conflict.
During the debate, some members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf voiced support for the proposal. Member of the National Assembly from Khyber Agency, Iqbal Afridi, stated in the assembly that if Pakistan participated in any action against Iran, strong protests would be launched.
Similarly, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President and lawmaker Junaid Akbar Khan said that Pakistan must adopt a cautious policy in light of the rapidly evolving regional situation.
He added that the presence of American military bases and regional alliances could further escalate tensions, stressing that Pakistan should formulate its policy by keeping national interests and regional stability in mind.
