Punjab University Holds Condolence Reference for Ayatollah Khamenei

Shiite News: A condolence reference was held at Punjab University under the auspices of the Academic Staff Association in connection with the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, where various religious, academic and social personalities participated and expressed solidarity with the Iranian nation.
The reference was presided over by Iranian Consul Mehran Mohedfar. Among those who attended the event were Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology Allama Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch, Allama Dr. Muhammad Hussain Akbar of Idara Minhaj-ul-Hussain Lahore, Director General of the Iranian Culture Center Lahore Dr. Asghar Masoudi, President of the Academic Staff Association Professor Dr. Amjad Abbas Khan Magsi and Secretary Professor Dr. Kamran Abid.
Speaking on the occasion, Iranian Consul Mehran Mohedfar said that the assassination of the Supreme Leader was a grave crime in history.
He said Iran is repeatedly drawn into negotiations and then war is imposed upon it. He added that Iran has no intention of developing a nuclear bomb.
He further stated that the United States seeks to impose in Iran the same model it implemented in Iraq, Libya and Syria.
According to him, Israel’s real objective is to dominate global energy markets and realize the dream of “Greater Israel.”
He also said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had issued threats to Pakistan, but he should know that Pakistan is not an easy target but a brave nation.
Mohedfar added that the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf are Iran’s neighbors and brotherly Islamic states, and Iran is targeting only enemy bases.
Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood said the Muslim Ummah must overcome internal differences and unite as one nation. Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology Allama Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi said Iran’s steadfastness in the battlefield is an example for the entire Muslim world.
Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch said Iran is being punished for supporting Palestine, adding that the Iranian people stand firmly with their government.
Allama Dr. Muhammad Hussain Akbar of Idara Minhaj-ul-Hussain Lahore said history proves that oppression ultimately ends in defeat.
Dr. Asghar Masoudi said the martyrdom of a great leader does not weaken a nation’s resolve but rather strengthens it further.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Academic Staff Association Secretary Professor Dr. Kamran Abid said that the people of Pakistan, as well as the teachers and students of Punjab University, stand with the Iranian nation in this difficult time.
