Shiite News: Senator and Chief of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan, Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, raised serious concerns in the Senate over the shooting of young demonstrators who were admirers of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and critics of former US President Donald Trump.
Addressing the upper house, Raja Nasir Abbas stated that millions of Shia Muslims in Pakistan and across the world follow two key figures: Ayatollah Khamenei and Ayatollah Sistani. He highlighted that young followers of Khamenei are particularly passionate and sensitive.
He condemned the recent violent incident, saying the individuals targeted were peaceful demonstrators with no criminal records. “Look at their faces – they were innocent children.
There were other ways to handle this situation. Why were live bullets fired? Why were they shot in the chest? No terrorist group was involved,” he remarked.
Raja Nasir Abbas called on the government to conduct a thorough investigation and hold accountable those responsible for using firearms against unarmed citizens.
He warned that continued heavy-handed measures would further inflame tensions among the youth. “We demand an official inquiry to clarify under what law these bullets were fired,” he said.
