Shiite News: Head of the Shiite Ulema Council Pakistan, Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi, has stated that social justice cannot be achieved without economic justice, warning that the current global political and economic order has taken an increasingly oppressive form.
Speaking on the occasion of the World Day of Social Justice and during a “Board of Peace” meeting, he referred to the United Nations initiative launched in 2009 — the Social Protection Floor Initiative. He noted that while the program was based on principles of equality, social security, diversity, and human rights, its objectives have been severely undermined over the past decade by global imperialism.
Allama Naqvi highlighted ongoing humanitarian crises in Gaza, the West Bank, Khan Younis, occupied Jerusalem, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Rohingya regions, and Sudan, stating that basic human rights are being systematically violated.
“In such circumstances, how can the dream of social justice be realized?” he asked.
He stressed that true social justice requires guaranteed access to security, healthcare, education, employment, cultural and religious freedom, and freedom of expression—rights that are increasingly under threat in today’s global environment.
