In his welcome address, Syed Ammar Hamdani, Director of Jamiat al-Mustafa Karachi, emphasized the importance of education, research, and reading. Referring to the sayings of the Supreme Leader, he said that knowledge and research are the foundation of intellectual self-confidence and the comprehensive progress of the Ummah.
Chief guest Muhammad Hussain Raisi highlighted the virtues of knowledge, the pen, and study in the light of the opening verses of Surah Al-Alaq, stating that the first Qur’anic command “Iqra” clearly proves that Islam is founded upon knowledge, awareness, and consciousness. He urged students to make research, writing, and intellectual inquiry a permanent part of their academic lives.
Following the ceremony, the book exhibition was formally inaugurated by Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Ghulam Muhammad Saleem.
On the first day of Research Week, the book “History of Islam” authored by Dr. Aqeel Musa was unveiled by Allama Dr. Shabbir Hassan Mithami. Senior scholars visited the exhibition stalls and reviewed books, publications, and research institutions.
Allama Mithami praised the academic and research role of Jamiat al-Mustafa, describing such initiatives as essential and inevitable for the promotion of knowledge and research.
He stated that these scholarly achievements are among the blessings of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), and the leadership of the Supreme Leader, stressing the need for continuity and further strengthening of such activities.
