Pakistan and Iran will work together: Lieut. General (r) Nasir Janjua

Prime Minister’s advisor for National security Lieutenant General (r) Nasir Janjua said that Pakistan and Iran will work together for peace and stability in the region. The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Admiral Ali Shamkhani met Nasir Janjua in which both the leaders discussed regional security and also talked about the cooperation in different sectors of security. Nasir Janjua said “It is pleasant to welcome the delegation of an Islamic country on my first day in office. Pakistan and Iran will work together to ensure long term peace and stability in the region”.

Issues of regional security were discussed in a meeting that continued for two hours. Admiral Ali Shamkhani also felicitated Lieut. Gen. (r) Nasir Janjua on assumption of the office and expressed the desire to work closely with him in order to achieve common security objectives.

The Adviser congratulated Shamkhani on successful conclusion of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which would end sanctions against Iran. He also expressed the hope that the ties between the two countries would further strengthen with the implementation of JCPOA.
