Banned Sipah-e-Sahaba Affiliate Aftab Nazir Resumes Sectarian Hate Campaign
Shiite News: Aftab Nazir, a notorious affiliate of the banned extremist organization Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), has once again launched a venomous sectarian campaign against the Shia community, targeting Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri with inflammatory accusations on social media.
Aftab Nazir, who was previously arrested in 2003 with 30 sticks of dynamite, is actively spreading hatred on X (formerly Twitter), portraying himself as a “social activist and journalist” while openly promoting sectarian narratives associated with banned terrorist outfits.
In a recent post, he accused Senator Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri of being an “Iranian proxy” and attempted to portray the Shia community as anti-state—claims widely condemned as dangerous, misleading, and incitement to sectarian violence.
Security analysts point out that Aftab Nazir has a documented history of affiliation with extremist organizations responsible for mass killings of Shia Muslims. He has also produced podcasts glorifying the founder of Sipah-e-Sahaba, referring to him respectfully despite the group’s terrorist designation.
Observers warn that such unchecked online propaganda threatens national harmony and undermines Shia–Sunni unity, which remains a cornerstone of Pakistan’s stability. Civil society circles have urged the government and law enforcement agencies to take immediate legal action against individuals spreading sectarian hatred under the guise of free speech.
