Youm e Hussain (as) at University of Karachi, attended by thousands of students and teachers

Yearly Youm e Hussain (as) was organized at the University of Karachi by the students’ affairs office and Imamia students’ organization in the parking area near Arts lobby in which the head of students’ affairs Dr. Ansar Rizvi, President of the University’s teachers’ society Dr. Jameel Kazmi, joint secretary Dr. Tanveer Abbas, President of ISO Karachi division Yawar Abbas and a large number of students and teachers attended the event. The VC of university presided over the event whereas the special address was given by Allama Shahanshah Hussain Naqvi. Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Allama Hamid Hussain Mashhadi and Allama Waqas Hashmi also addressed the gathering.

In his presidential address Dr. Muhammad Qasier Khan said “Ideology of Imam Hussain (as) needs to be spread. Hussaini ideology is the name for upbringing the right and to struggle for justice. Yazeedi elements are also present in today’s world. Yazeediat is the name of bad practices”.

He further said “The whole Islamic world is now engulfed in anarchy and students should play their role for improving the conditions of Islamic world”.

Allama Shahanshah Naqvi said in his special address “The fight between Haq and Batil has been going on since Hazrat Adam (as)’s era till today for the survival of humanity. History is evident of the fact that those who get victory due to their power during a fight between Haq and Batil have always failed. Incident of Karbala has drawn a line between the right (Haq) and wrong (Batil) that will remain till the day of judgement. Terrorism could be defeated by spreading the Hussaini thought”.

He further said “the followers of Babul Ilm should make education as their priority and Karbala is the best educational institution for both education and training. Terrorist forces are using students for their objectives and administrations of universities should take action against terrorists breeding in universities”.

Allama Hassan Zafar said in his address “The purpose of Imam Hussain (as)’s sacrifice was to uphold and elevate the religion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Organizing Youm e Hussain (as) in universities proves that Hussainiat is the way of unity among Muslims (Ittehad bain ul Muslimeen) rather than sectarianism. Insult of any religions is not allowed in Islam and the person to do so is considered as ‘Kharji’ (someone outside Islam)”.

Allama Waqas Hashmi said “Yazeed was not the name of one person rather the name of a way of thinking. We need to play our role in spreading Hussainiat”.

Allama Hamid Hussain Mashhadi also addressed the gathering and students also paid tribute to Imam Hussain (as) through Noha, Salam and Marsia. Different students’ organizations also arranged sabeels (water and juice stalls) on Youm e Hussain (as).
