Ferry service to be initiated for pilgrims from Karachi to Iran

Federal government announced to start ferry service for pilgrims from Karachi to Iran. According to details, federal minister Port and Shipping Kamran Michael said while addressing a gathering in Karachi that the reason for initiating the marine service is to protect pilgrims from terrorism taking place along the land routes.

Federal minister further said “The ferry service is being initiated upon directives of the PM Nawaz Sharif and it will be started from Karachi port to Iran’s Chah Bahar port from May, next year.

It should be remembered pilgrims visiting Iran through Quetta have been targeted several times by terrorists.
