MWM to Play Active Role in Gilgit-Baltistan Elections

Shiite News: A high-level meeting of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, focusing on the political situation and upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The meeting was attended by MWM Pakistan Secretary Political Affairs Syed Asad Abbas Naqvi, Vice Chairman Allama Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi, Chief Organizer Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi, MWM GB Secretary Political Affairs and former Opposition Leader Kazim Maisam, GB Council Member Sheikh Ahmed Ali Noori, and Central Political Council member Zaheer Hussain. MWM GB spokesperson Ilyas Siddiqui was briefed online.
Participants unanimously decided that MWM will play a proactive and effective role in the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections and strive to bring capable representatives to the assembly from all 24 constituencies.
The meeting emphasized maintaining high moral values, political ethics, and principled politics while finalizing electoral alliances and strategies.
It was decided that candidates would be selected based on merit, integrity and ideology rather than mere pursuit of power.
Special emphasis was laid on fielding educated, courageous, honest, ideologically committed and people-oriented youth capable of representing public aspirations and defending regional rights.
Chairman MWM Pakistan Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri stated that the restoration of deprived rights, protection of resources, sustainable development and establishment of justice in Gilgit-Baltistan depend on empowering capable, ethical and committed individuals beyond sectarian, regional and tribal affiliations.
He also paid tribute to former opposition leader Kazim Maisam and sitting members for their principled struggle and representation of public interests under challenging circumstances.
