Thousands of mourners came out on roads in dfferent cities of Punjab and protested against the government of Muslim League (N) due to their anti-azadaari policies, for cancelling permits of processions, for creating hindrances in azadaari by making use of the loud speaker act and NAP and to ban speakers and scholars for addressing the mourning congregations. According to information, remonstration rallies took place in different cities of Punjab including Lahore, Qasoor, Rawalpindi and Multan in which thousands of mourners participated.

The major protest in Lahore took place outside Lahore Press club where leaders, speakers and heads of mourning groups (anjumans) strongly protested against Punjab government’s anti-azadaari policies, chanted slogans and performed matamdari (a form of mourning) to give message to Muslim League (N)’s government that azadaari of Imam Hussain (as) can never be compromised hence, the government should refrain from policies for limiting and restricting azadaari otherwise it will be performed everywhere in the country, on every road and in every street.
