Pakistan–Iran Ferry Service Officially Launched
Shiite News: After a long wait, the ferry service between Pakistan and Iran has officially been launched, providing traders, pilgrims, and travelers with a new, affordable, and convenient maritime route between the two neighboring countries.
The first ferry carrying pilgrims departed from Iran’s Chabahar Port and successfully arrived at Karachi Port. Around 200 passengers were onboard, and the journey took approximately 10 to 12 hours.
The ticket price per passenger is reported to be around 70 US dollars, varying according to class and facilities. Authorities stated that this service will be a major relief for pilgrims traveling to Iran and Iraq, as it is significantly cheaper than air travel and safer than land routes.
Officials further announced that ferry services to other Gulf countries, including the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, are expected to begin in early 2026, strengthening regional maritime connectivity.
