Shiite News: In a shocking development, the son of a banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi terrorist confessed to murdering his father nearly eight years ago after being detained by police in Jaranwala, Faisalabad, over allegations of liquor selling.
Police officials were stunned when the suspect—identified as Rafiqat alias Rafiq, a member of the proscribed militant outfit—disclosed during interrogation that he had killed his father and buried the body inside the house.
Police initially doubted the confession, suspecting coercion or an attempt to escape charges, but inquiries from neighbours confirmed the father had been missing for nearly eight years.
When asked about the location of the body, the suspect said he buried the corpse inside a pit dug within their home.
Following this disclosure, police excavated the house on 26 November and recovered skeletal remains two days later.
The remains have been sent to Jaranwala Civil Hospital for post-mortem, while DNA testing at the Punjab Forensic Lab will confirm the identity.
The suspect’s arrest stemmed from a domestic dispute where his sister allegedly threatened to report him, accusing him of killing their father.
