Terrorism threat in Karachi during Muharram ul Haram, decision for high-alerting the security
According to sources of Sindh Government’s Interior Ministry, there is a threat of terrorism in Karachi during Muharram ul Haram due to which security will be high-alerted, especially on 8th, 9th and 10th Muharram. Sources tell that 26542 police officials will be performing their duties to ensure peace in the city. 1661 police officials will be ticket type, 5724 will be responsible for patrolling and 18557 officials will be deployed in various areas.
Similarly, 6924 officials in Hyderabad, 9488 in Sukkur, 10791 in Larkana, 2276 in Mir Pur Khas, and in Shaheed Benazir Abad 7623 police officials will perform their duties. Overall, there will be 5482 ticket type police in the province. It should be clear that 992 mourning congregations (majaalis) have been declared as extremely sensitive and 2150 mourning congregations (majaalis) as sensitive in Karachi.
