Pakistan’s Unshakable Commitment to Palestine: President and PM Issue Strong Messages

Shiite News: On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari issued powerful statements reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

Prime Minister Sharif said Pakistan stands firmly with the Palestinian nation, which has endured decades of dispossession and denial of self-determination. He highlighted that over 70,000 Palestinians have been martyred in Gaza, while homes, hospitals, schools and civilian infrastructure lie in ruins — a humanitarian catastrophe.

He called for effective global accountability for Israel’s war crimes and ongoing genocide. He stressed that the ceasefire must continue, violence must stop, and uninterrupted humanitarian aid must reach Gaza. PM Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s full support for a viable Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
President Asif Ali Zardari, in his message, paid tribute to the resilience of the Palestinian people. He reminded that Pakistan’s support for Palestinian self-determination dates back to the 1940 Lahore Resolution. Pakistan has consistently condemned Israeli atrocities at every international forum, including the UN, OIC, and ICJ. He emphasized the need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, civilian protection, and accountability for Israeli war crimes.
He expressed hope that one day he would offer prayers at Masjid Al-Aqsa alongside the Palestinian brothers.
