Iran–Pakistan Gas Pipeline Issues to Be Resolved Soon: Ali Larijani
Shiite News: Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani has expressed hope that the long-stalled issues related to the Iran–Pakistan gas pipeline project will be resolved soon. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he stated that Iran has already completed construction of the pipeline on its side, but the project remains pending for many years due to multiple delays.
Expressing concern over Pakistan–Afghanistan tensions, Larijani said Iran desires regional peace and stability and is ready to play a mediatory role to reduce friction between the two neighbours. He added that Iran has assured Pakistan of all possible cooperation.
Discussing the situation in Palestine, especially Gaza, he said that regional developments do not reflect the aspirations of the Palestinian people. However, Iran and Pakistan share a common positions on this matter.
Larijani praised bilateral security cooperation, stating that despite challenges posed by terrorist groups, Iran has taken effective measures and continues close coordination with Pakistan.
He said expanding strategic and economic relations—similar to Iran’s ties with China and Russia—holds significant potential for Iran–Pakistan trade and investment.
He emphasized that Iran and Pakistan can play a crucial role in sustaining regional peace and stability, as their relations are rooted in deep brotherhood and mutual trust.
