Shiite News: At the conclusion of the assembly term, Muhammad Kazim Meesam—Parliamentary Leader of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and former Leader of the Opposition in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly—issued a farewell message expressing gratitude to all parties and members of the united opposition alliance.
He said the greatest “gift” of regime change for him was the formation of a strong and unified opposition, consisting of MWM, PTI, BNF, and independent lawmakers. He thanked all colleagues for standing firm through challenging times and for raising a powerful, coordinated voice for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Kazim Meesam acknowledged the unwavering support of nationalist leader Nawaz Khan Naji, senior politician Raja Zakariya Khan, PTI leader Minister Muhammad Saleem, and others who resisted pressure, rejected offers of ministries, and upheld the dignity of the opposition benches.
He also offered deep appreciation to prominent figures including Javed Ali Manwa, Sheikh Akbar Ali Rajai, Sohail Abbas, Colonel Obaidullah Baig, and the two steadfast women parliamentarians Kulsoom Farman and Dr. Kaneez Fatima, praising their courage, loyalty, and service.
He concluded that although mistakes can occur, his entire team ensured that they never betrayed the trust of the people, standing like an iron wall despite threats, temptations, and political pressures.
