Safavi’s 25th Martyrdom Anniversary: CIA,Pakistani Forces Joint Operation martyred Ali Nasir Safavi

Shiite News: Today marks the 25th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Ali Nasir Safavi, a devoted son of the Shi’a nation and close companion of Shaheed Dr. Muhammad Ali Naqvi. He was a loyal follower of Shaheed Quaid Allama Arif Hussain al-Hussaini and a lover of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and his purified progeny.
On the night of 25 November 2000, during a joint operation by personnel of Pakistani armed forces and CIA operatives, Ali Nasir Safavi and his wife were brutally martyred in Joharabad, Chakwal district.
He is the first martyr of the Shi’a community in Pakistan killed in a CIA-supervised extra-judicial operation conducted alongside Pakistani forces. His wife was also martyred during the same attack, leaving behind two young daughters and an elderly mother.
Shamefully, many major Shi’a organizations and national figures remained silent after the incident, leaving the bodies unattended in the hospital for hours. Only a handful of individuals stepped forward to arrange the burial, while prominent leaders avoided even attending the funeral out of fear. Even after 25 years, the tragedy of his martyrdom remains largely unacknowledged.
