27th Amendment Rejected; Black Day to Be Observed on 21 November, TTAP
Shiite News: Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan (TTAP) held an emergency leadership meeting on 14 November 2025 in Islamabad, chaired by Maulana Mahmood Khan Achakzai, attended by leaders of key political and religious parties. The meeting was convened in the context of the controversial 27th Constitutional Amendment.
Key participants included Asad Qaiser, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Barrister Gohar Khan, Salman Akram Raja, Akhtar Mengal, Zain Shah, Sajid Tarin, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Hussain Yousafzai, Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, Ali Asghar Khan, and Shaukat Basra.
The joint communiqué declared the 26th and 27th amendments as a blatant violation of the basic structure of the Constitution. It stated that these amendments have effectively placed the judiciary under the administration, severely undermining the powers and existence of the Supreme Court, and introduced personal modifications to the Constitution that are completely rejected.
The communiqué noted that these controversial amendments have rendered the judiciary practically paralyzed. Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan praised Supreme Court senior justices Mansoor Ali Shah and Athar Minallah for resigning in courageous protest against the assault on the Constitution.
The statement emphasized that no individual or official is above the Constitution and law. Granting exceptions to individuals violates the fundamental principles of Quran, Sunnah, democracy, and justice, and such privileges are also rejected.
The communiqué condemned the “vile game” played by making the consensual Constitution controversial, threatening national security and unity. Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan announced that it will continue resisting the unconstitutional amendments and engage in full democratic protests to restore the Constitution in its original form.
The meeting also endorsed the full communiqué of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peace Jirga and demanded government implementation of its recommendations.
A march from Parliament House to the Supreme Court by National Assembly and Senate members is scheduled for Monday, while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will pass a resolution against the amendment. Punjab Assembly members will march from the Punjab Assembly to the Lahore High Court on the same day.
Furthermore, a nationwide Black Day will be observed on Friday.
Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan also demanded the immediate release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, PTI leadership and workers, Baloch Unity Committee leaders and workers, and all political prisoners.
Finally, the movement assured workers, farmers, industrialists, and marginalized communities that the struggle for their rights will continue until justice is achieved.
