Science Must Serve Humanity, Not Wicked Agendas, Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi
Shiite News: On the occasion of World Science Day for Peace and Development (November 10), Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi said in his special message that science is like a surgical knife—if it is in the hands of a doctor, it brings healing and goodness; if in the hands of a bandit, it spreads evil and destruction.
He lamented that the same knowledge that should have been used for the welfare of humanity has been turned into a weapon of destruction.
“Today’s world stands as proof, imperial powers and their Zionist agents have used science to annihilate humanity rather than to serve it. They are the sworn enemies of mankind, and no good can be expected from them,” he said.
Allama Naqvi explained that there is no doubt science has helped humankind understand the universe and solve life’s problems, yet the same scientific knowledge has been grossly misused by imperialist forces.
“The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were horrific examples of this misuse in the past, and today, Gaza has become their testing ground,” he said.
He continued, “Science, when guided by compassion and morality, promotes peace and prosperity; when controlled by tyrants, it breeds destruction and oppression.
The world is observing ‘Science for Peace and Development Day’ at a time when bombs are raining on Gaza, humanity is perishing in agony, and the imperial powers are blocking aid and using hunger as a weapon against the remaining survivors. Ironically, these same forces speak of peace while perpetrating genocide.”
It is noteworthy that World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated globally every year on November 10 to raise awareness about the importance of science in building sustainable societies and lasting peace.
The day was first proposed by UNESCO and was officially celebrated for the first time in 2002. Its objective is to highlight that science is not confined to laboratories but is vital to human life, economic development, environmental protection, and global peace.
