Shiite News: On the occasion of Allama Iqbal’s birth anniversary, Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari stated that Iqbal taught enslaved minds the lesson of self-respect and envisioned a free, dignified, and sovereign state for the Muslims of the subcontinent yet today, those constitutional and democratic principles have been trampled upon in Pakistan.
He said that when we speak of “Iqbal’s Pakistan,” a serious question arises, is this the same Pakistan that Allama Iqbal dreamed of?
Allama Jafari emphasized that Iqbal envisioned a state where the rule of law prevailed, the rulers served the nation, and justice and equality were the foundation of governance.
Unfortunately, today a non-constitutional and unlawful structure has been imposed on the nation through the fraud politics of “Form-47,” which has distorted the people’s mandate.
He lamented that the constitution has been trampled in the halls of power, the public mandate is being stolen, and the voices of truth are being silenced. This, he said, is the very “Changiziyyat” (tyranny) against which Allama Iqbal had warned the Ummah.
Senator Jafari asserted that Iqbal Day is not just for ceremonial celebrations but a day of collective accountability.
If we claim to be the heirs of Iqbal’s Pakistan, then we must establish this nation on the principles of justice, freedom, and people’s sovereignty.
He concluded by saying that Iqbal’s message is still alive — the real question is whether we will act as a living nation and follow that message, or remain asleep amidst the noise of hollow ceremonies.
