Four Months On, No Arrests in Pehlwan Goth Martyrs’ Case; Shiite Nation Awaits Justice

Shiite News: The Shiite community of Pakistan has strongly criticized the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for its continued failure to identify or arrest the killers involved in the Pehlwan Goth martyrdom case and the recent target killing of Shaheed Adil Hussain.
It has been four months since the Pehlwan Goth tragedy, where two Shiite youths — Ali Waris and Mazhar Hussain — were martyred, yet the killers remain untraced. Similarly, four days have passed since the martyrdom of Adil Hussain in Orangi Town, but no suspects have been arrested or identified.
Ironically, when terrorists belonging to the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba / Lashkar-e-Jhangvi were killed in internal clashes, the CTD DIG Ghulam Azfar Mahesar swiftly announced arrests within two days and held a press conference identifying the culprits — labeling them as “agents of Iran” or “Shiites.”
The Shiite nation questions why the same urgency and transparency vanish when the victims are Shiites. The apparent double standards of the CTD raise concerns about bias and selective justice.
The community demands that CTD officials show equal seriousness, identify the murderers of Shiite martyrs, and present them before the media — as they did in the case of banned outfits’ operatives.
The 70 million Shiites of Pakistan now await a press conference by DIG Ghulam Azfar Mahesar announcing the arrest and public identification of the killers of their martyrs.
