Declare Gilgit-Baltistan a Full-Fledged Province, Demands Allama Sajid Naqvi

Shiite News: On the occasion of Gilgit-Baltistan’s 78th Independence Day, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, Patron-in-Chief of the Shia Ulema Council Pakistan, issued a message urging the government to resolve the region’s issues and grant it full constitutional rights.
He paid tribute to the national heroes of the 1947 liberation movement, saying that Gilgit-Baltistan is a vital and strategic region that deserves provincial status and parliamentary representation. He stressed that the promises made under the 2018 Executive Order remain unfulfilled and must be implemented.
Allama Naqvi demanded that all subsidies and facilities for the people of GB be maintained and that their legitimate aspirations be respected. He said that it is time to integrate the long-neglected region into the national mainstream and ensure its rightful participation in parliament and the senate.
He recalled that on November 1, 1947, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan freed themselves from Dogra rule through their own struggle — a moment symbolizing bravery, unity, and independence.
