Shiite News: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has firmly stated that Pakistan’s national security is guaranteed by its Armed Forces, and “there is no question of offering such guarantees to Kabul.”
In a briefing to senior journalists, he said, “The Taliban play football with the severed heads of our security personnel — how can we negotiate with such people?” He reiterated that Pakistan never celebrated the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, and confrontations with militant groups like TTP, BLA, and others continue.
Responding to a question about drone operations, the DG ISPR clarified that Pakistan has no drone agreement with the United States, nor has any formal complaint been received from the Taliban regime. He said Pakistan’s Ministry of Information has repeatedly clarified that no U.S. drones operate from Pakistani soil.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif criticized the Taliban government for facilitating terrorist groups and revealed that clear instructions were given to them during the Istanbul Peace Conference, emphasizing that countering terrorism is their responsibility. Pakistan, he added, has demanded the handover of terrorists who fled across the border during counter-terrorism operations.
He further disclosed that nearly 200 officers and soldiers have been martyred during intelligence-based operations in recent months, and these operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
The DG ISPR emphasized that the issue is not politics but terrorism and organized crime, funded through opium cultivation and smuggling in coordination with warlords and militant networks.
He concluded that any proposal for negotiations with terrorists only spreads confusion, reaffirming that Pakistan’s defense, sovereignty, and national policy remain the domain of the civilian government and armed forces working together.
