Nikah Is a Strong Bond of Life: Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi

Shiite News: The Head of Shia Ulema Council Pakistan, Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, commenting on the Supreme Court’s ruling regarding domestic violence and annulment of marriage, stated that marriage is not a fragile thread that breaks with minor actions, but rather a strong bond of life.
He said that while domestic violence and failure to provide sustenance are absolutely wrong, these do not constitute valid grounds for dissolution of marriage. Likewise, a second marriage is also not sufficient reason for annulment.
Allama Sajid Naqvi explained that the Holy Qur’an, particularly Surah al-Nisa, provides very clear guidance on this issue.
He emphasized that the Qur’an directs the appointment of arbiters from both families to mediate and seek reconciliation between the spouses.
