Shiite News: The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Qom chapter hosted Allama Nazer Abbas Taqvi, Central Additional Secretary of the Shia Ulema Council Pakistan, during his visit on Monday.
He was warmly received by Allama Syed Zeeshan Haider Al-Hassani, President of the MWM Qom office, along with members of the cabinet.
The meeting began with condolences and fateha for Allama Taqvi’s mother, followed by an introduction of the MWM’s local cabinet and a briefing on the organization’s ongoing religious and social activities in the holy city of Qom.
During the session, both sides emphasized the importance of addressing the difficulties faced by Pakistani pilgrims, especially those traveling to and from Iran, Iraq, and Syria. They discussed the need for a joint strategy to resolve pilgrims’ logistical and administrative challenges.
Allama Nazer Abbas Taqvi also underlined the importance of unity within the Shia leadership, particularly in the political sphere, highlighting that the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections offer an opportunity for stronger cooperation between the MWM and the Shia Ulema Council (SUC).
He said, “In the current circumstances, unity and collaboration are the need of the hour. By maintaining solidarity, we can effectively defeat takfiri and extremist elements who aim to divide the Muslim Ummah.”
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthen coordination among religious institutions in Qom and to advance the cause of pilgrims’ welfare, political awareness, and communal harmony.
