Shiite News: Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) parliamentary leader and Member of National Assembly, Engr. Hameed Hussain Turi, strongly condemned the cross-border attacks launched from Afghanistan on Pakistan’s Kurram district, targeting multiple areas including Pewar, Tari Mangal, Kharlachi, Burki, Anzerki, and Shurki Shaheedan Danda. The attacks reportedly struck both Pakistan Army posts and civilian settlements.
Engr. Hameed Hussain Turi declared that these acts of aggression by the Taliban regime constitute a direct assault on Pakistan’s sovereignty and a blatant violation of international laws and border norms.
He expressed concern that these incidents occurred while the Afghan Foreign Minister was visiting India, a coincidence that raises serious questions about the timing and intent behind this hostility.
He lauded the timely and courageous response of Pakistan’s security forces, paying tribute to their sacrifices in defense of the homeland. Expressing solidarity with the families of martyrs and affected civilians, he said the nation will never forget their sacrifices.
In conclusion, Engr. Hameed Hussain Turi demanded that the Government of Pakistan lodge a strong diplomatic protest with the Afghan regime, ensure lasting measures for border protection, and take immediate and concrete steps to safeguard the lives and property of Kurram’s border residents.
