236 Pakistanis martyred in Mina stampede, claims UK paper The Guardian

Shiite news Monitoring: As many as 236 Pakistani Hajj pilgrims embraced martyrdom in a deadly stampede in Mina, UK newspaper The Guardian claimed in a report whereas Pakistani ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Pakistani officials have denied the authenticity of the report.

UK newspaper The Guardian claimed that 236 Pakistani pilgrims died in Mina stampede however, this has not been confirmed from other sources. According to the most recent list issued by the Saudi health ministry, 136 Iranians embraced martyrdom whereas 344 are missing, 19 pilgrims of Nigeria got martyred and 50 are missing, 87 of Morocco, 20 of Cameroon, 14 each of India and Egypt and many other pilgrims of other countries also embrace martyrdom in the incident. Pakistan’s ministry for religious affairs has confirmed deaths of 18 Pakistani pilgrims however, according to the information of Geo news, number of martyrs has reached to 23 whereas more than 300 are still missing.
