Why are blasphemy cases only in Pakistan? Allama Amin Shahidi’s critical question

Shiite News: Allama Muhammad Amin Shahidi, in an interview with Geo News, questioned why blasphemy cases are rampant only in Pakistan, unlike other Muslim countries. He said this trend has fueled extremism and division in society.
He criticized the Islamic Ideology Council for overstepping its mandate in the Muhammad Ali Mirza case, revealing that he sent a six-page letter to the council highlighting the issue. He lamented that only two members dominated the discussion with emotional outbursts, rather than rational debate.
Allama Shahidi urged religious institutions to adopt a balanced and serious approach to sensitive issues, warning that misuse of blasphemy laws can further radicalize society.
