Allama Najafi delivers thought-provoking speech on faith and knowledge
Shiite News: In Revival Dars, the head of Jamia al-Kawthar Islamabad Pakistan, Hujjatul Islam Allama Anwar Ali Najafi, while addressing an important academic session “Academic Forum; Public Questions”, shed light on the importance of faith and knowledge. He said that both faith and knowledge give a person elevation in the sight of God.
His speech was in the light of the verse of the Quran, “Allah will raise those among you who believe and those who have been given knowledge in degrees,” which means: “Allah will raise those among you who believe and those who have been given knowledge in degrees.”
Allama Anwar Ali Najafi clarified that the excellence of a scholarly gathering is only when its purpose is based on faith, because both faith and knowledge give a person a place in the sight of God.
Speaking on the role of scholars, he said that only those scholars who are knowledgeable truly fear God, and this fear leads to their spiritual evolution.
The head of Jamiat-ul-Kawthar Islamabad advised the students to adopt humility and modesty and not seek special protocols, as this practice is against the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
Stressing the importance of academic discussions and debates, he said that they are a means of purifying the heart and mind. He likened academic discussions to polishing a sword, which removes rust from the hearts.
Allama Anwar Ali Najafi encouraged the participants to actively participate in the conversation instead of just listening and to avoid discussing unnecessary or irrelevant topics.
Finally, he answered questions asked about schools like “Aswah” and “Kawthar” and explained that due to limited capacity, these schools admit a small number of students, however, efforts are underway to establish more schools in different locations.
