Two Beralvi devotees killed, four others wounded in ASWJ terrorists attack on shrine
Two devotees belongs from AhleSunnat-Beralvi sect were shot dead while four others wounded in an attack on a shrine in the Korangi Industrial Area Karachi on Friday evening, said police and hospital officials.
The victims were sitting at Aastana Zinda Pir in Mehran Town when four terrorists of notorious AhleSunant Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) formerly known as Sipah-e-Sahaba, riding two motorbikes opened fire on them and sped away, the police said.
All the six victims were rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors declared Lehaf Sohrab, 35, and Khamiso Sultan, 30, dead on arrival, said Dr Seemin Jamali, head of the emergency department.
She said the other victims namely Ghulam Sarwar, 50, Sawan Saindad, 40, Pervez Akram, 30, and Fazal Karim, 36, were admitted to hospital for treatment.
“The condition of two of them is critical,” said Dr Jamali.
“Police suspect involvement of Jihadi elements behind the attack on the Mazar,” said Karachi-East DIG Munir Ahmed Shaikh.
