Participation in China’s Global Expo a Defining Move in the Region: Opposition Leader Kazim Maisam

Shiite News:Opposition Leader of Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and Parliamentary Leader of MWM-GB, Kazim Maisam, has said that Pakistan’s participation in the ongoing Global Expo (SCO Conference) in China is a defining moment for the entire region.
He stated that the expo is not just an exhibition but a sign of a new global alignment—marking the start of the decline for U.S. and European hegemony and a clear shift of power. “It has become evident that the world is no longer unipolar,” he emphasized.
Maisam highlighted that the event brought together powers ideologically and strategically opposed to the U.S., including North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. “Very soon, we will hear the cries of the U.S. and Europe,” he added, warning that Gilgit-Baltistan’s sensitivity has further increased amid the convergence of four nuclear powers.
The MWM-GB leader praised China’s rapid advancements in defense technology, including intercontinental ballistic missiles, submarine drones, extra-large manned underwater vehicles, anti-ship and supersonic missiles, powerful laser weapons, advanced radar and air-defense systems, early-warning aircraft, and cutting-edge spy drones, which, he said, are reshaping the balance of power globally.
He further pointed out that the SCO Conference declaration reflects commitments to counter U.S. sanctions, reduce Western economic dominance, enhance cooperation in AI and modern technologies, accelerate sustainable development, protect the environment, strengthen youth participation, improve healthcare, fight terrorism, and work toward a multipolar world order.
Maisam stressed that countries like Pakistan, trying to balance between both blocs, are now under a real test. “The U.S. wants to ensure Pakistan never becomes a player of the Eastern bloc.
Instead of relying on the sinking ship of global imperialism, Pakistan should pursue trade and defense agreements with China and Russia.
Our struggling economy, terrorism, debt traps, and governance flaws are the result of U.S. dictations. If Pakistan makes dignified and independent decisions, it can move toward prosperity,” he concluded.
