Shiite News: The Director of the Islamic Seminary of Iran, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, recently sent letters to prominent personalities and leading Islamic scholars expressing sorrow over the Zionists’ war crimes and calling for Islamic unity in support of Palestine.
Among the recipients was Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, who has now issued a formal reply.
In his letter, Maulana Fazlur Rehman thanked Ayatollah Arafi for his brotherly and sincere message, praising his sentiments for the people of Palestine and Gaza.
He stressed that the Palestinian cause is not merely a political issue but a religious, moral, and humanitarian obligation for the entire Muslim Ummah.
He underlined the need for scholars, intellectuals, academic centers, and Islamic movements across the globe to unite for the cause of Palestine.
Referring to the Quranic teachings mentioned in Ayatollah Arafi’s letter, Fazlur Rehman said these serve as a guiding light for all Muslims.
He welcomed the stance of Iran’s religious and scholarly leadership, describing it as being aligned with justice, freedom, and human dignity.
The JUI chief assured full support for Ayatollah Arafi’s appeal at the international level to advance the struggle of the oppressed people of Gaza. He pledged that no effort would be spared in extending all possible cooperation.
At the same time, he called upon Muslim countries, international academic and intellectual institutions, and freedom-loving nations worldwide to consider moral support and practical cooperation to end the siege of Gaza as both a religious duty and a humanitarian responsibility.
“Now is the time for the Muslim Ummah to stand united against oppression so that the struggle for the liberation of Al-Quds may succeed,” he said.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman concluded his letter with prayers for the unity of the Muslim Ummah, the defense of truth, and the victory of the oppressed.
