Shiite News: Traders in Sost, Gilgit-Baltistan, are continuing their protest demanding the acceptance of their legitimate rights.
Instead of engaging in serious negotiations, the state has reportedly resorted to threats of force against the demonstrators.
Reacting to the situation, Opposition Leader of Gilgit-Baltistan, Kazim Maisam, said that the traders’ demands are constitutional and legal, and he fully supports them.
He criticized the administration for using oppressive tactics after the traders showed flexibility during negotiations.
Kazim Maisam urged the federal government to accept the traders’ demands immediately and not paralyze Pakistan’s only trade corridor with China.
He added that the protesting traders are fighting for the rights of the entire region. “The whole nation stands with you.
If the traders call, we will march towards Sost. You are not alone; we are with you. If the demands are not met, we will soon join you in the sit-in,” warned the Opposition Leader.
