Shiite News: Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, in his message on the occasion of the 54th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Awwal Allama Syed Muhammad Dehlvi, paid glowing tribute to the late leader, describing him as the “Khatib-e-Azam (Greatest Orator of the Subcontinent)” and a distinguished Islamic scholar belonging to a renowned scholarly family.
He stated that Allama Dehlvi rendered invaluable services to religion and the community through his writings, speeches, and social contributions.
Having acquired knowledge from the prominent Madrassa Nazimia, Lucknow, he emerged as a towering figure in the subcontinent.
Allama Naqvi emphasized that during the struggle for Pakistan’s independence, construction, and defense, the nation under the leadership of religious scholars and elders made great sacrifices. Among them, the role, efforts, and achievements of Allama Dehlvi remain unforgettable and historically significant.
Highlighting his political and religious legacy, Allama Naqvi noted that in 1964, Allama Dehlvi laid the foundation for peaceful and democratic protest through the Shia Demands Committee and Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Shia Pakistan.
Through these forums, he logically presented demands such as the protection of Azadari (mourning rituals), religious education, and Auqaf (religious endowments), achieving positive results despite limited resources and old age. His tireless efforts instilled awareness and unity among the community.
Allama Sajid Naqvi further remarked that, even today, despite facing numerous challenges, the people of Pakistan continue to endure with patience for the sake of national security and unity. However, the authorities, he warned, seem unable to comprehend the seriousness of the prevailing situation.
He concluded that the struggle for protecting community rights, promoting unity, and fostering sectarian harmony remains ongoing, inspired by the vision and legacy of Allama Syed Muhammad Dehlvi.
