Shiite News: Families of Shia mourners allegedly subjected to enforced disappearances held a protest demonstration in Karachi on Sunday, demanding the safe recovery of their loved ones.
The protest drew the participation of men, women, and children of the missing individuals, alongside community members and religious scholars.
Speakers at the gathering included Fakhar Abbas Naqvi, Central President of the Imamia Students Organization Pakistan (ISO); Allama Syed Nazir Abbas Taqvi, Additional Secretary of the Shia Ulema Council; Allama Sadiq Jafari, President of the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Karachi Division; community activist Alamdar Rizvi; and the wife of missing mourner Azhar Abbas. Senior scholars such as Allama Syed Haider Abbas Abidi, Dr. Aqeel Musa, Allama Sadiq Raza Taqvi, Allama Syed Ali Anwar Jafari, and Allama Mubashir Hasan also attended to express solidarity.
Addressing the protesters, ISO President Fakhar Naqvi said the Shia community had historically resisted oppressive regimes and vowed to continue raising its voice.

He demanded the immediate release of all missing Shia citizens, warning that if they were not freed, a nationwide protest movement would be launched.
Speaking emotionally, the wife of Azhar Abbas questioned why innocent mourners had been missing for years without charges or evidence against them.

She described the ordeal of families who had spent years in uncertainty, with some parents passing away while waiting for their sons to return.

She criticized the judicial process, saying that courts merely delayed cases with repeated adjournments while investigative bodies interrogated families instead of addressing the issue.
She urged authorities to either present the missing before courts if any charges exist or release them unconditionally. “If the institutions believe that, after years, they can deny the very existence of these men, they are mistaken. We will continue to raise our voices for them until our last breath,” she said.
The protest camp concluded with large-scale participation from mourners of Imam Hussain (A.S.), who expressed solidarity with the families and echoed the call for justice.
