Talagang: SUC President resigns amid backlash over opposition to Chakwal Mashi
Shiite News: The first outcome of growing public outrage has surfaced as Allama Muhammad Ameen Haidari, president of the Shia Ulema Council Talagang chapter, announced his resignation.
The development comes after Haidari faced criticism for allegedly disassociating himself from the Chakwal Mashi (Arbaeen walk) and for discouraging mourners from participating.
In his statement, Haidari clarified that the decision regarding the Mashi was not his alone but that of the entire cabinet.
However, mounting public pressure and continuous protests compelled him to relinquish his position.
Local sources noted that individuals responsible for halting the Chakwal Mashi are now attempting to deflect criticism through various excuses.
Nonetheless, mourners have made it clear that they will not compromise on this issue, insisting that Azadari and the Mashi cannot be stopped under any circumstances.
