Interior Minister announces Subsidized flights and visa extension arrangements for pilgrims

Shiite News: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said that the Ministry of Interior has sent a summary to the Prime Minister’s House in which measures have been proposed for the convenience of pilgrims.

In this regard, an agreement has been reached on seven points with representatives of the Shia Ulema Council and Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen and a committee has been formed.

He said that for pilgrims who cannot afford air travel, subsidized flights are being arranged and the use of sea routes is also being considered.

The Minister of State for Interior assured that pilgrims will be taken to Karbala from 21 to 28 Safar and their visas are also being extended.

Talal Chaudhry said that this step is for the protection of lives and property of the people, and not for any religious or political purpose. The government is preparing a comprehensive mechanism to provide more facilities to pilgrims next year and steps are also being taken to send students stranded at the borders.
