Emergency meeting of Shia Ulema Council on closure of land routes for pilgrims

Shiite News: The meeting of the Central Executive Council of Shia Ulema Council Pakistan, chaired by Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, was held at the residence of Central Secretary General Shia Ulema Council Pakistan Allama Dr. Shabbir Hassan Maysami in Islamabad.

The meeting was attended by members of the Executive Council from across the country, while those members who could not attend the meeting physically participated through video link.

According to Allama Dr. Shabbir Hassan Maysami, Central Secretary General of Shia Ulema Council Pakistan, this approximately eight-hour-long meeting of the Central Executive Council, consisting of two sessions, was held regarding the closure of land routes for pilgrims by the government.

The only agenda of the meeting was this issue, which was discussed in detail. After thorough consultation on all aspects, various proposals were formulated, which were decided to continue the meeting till tomorrow to finalize so that the consultation could be brought to a logical conclusion.

Allama Shabbir Hassan Maysami said that today, Monday, the entire nation will be informed about the important decisions taken through the consultative process in the meeting of the Central Executive Council of the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan.

Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, while addressing the meeting, appreciated the workable proposals of the members of the Executive Council. He directed that wisdom, prudence and peaceful measures should be taken to resolve this important issue of the closure of land routes.

He also stressed that closing the nearby land routes for the poor people to visit their Imam is tantamount to denying them their basic human and religious rights, which we cannot give up. The government should immediately review its decision.
