Shiites’ sit-in turns M A Jinnah Road Karachi into Tehrir Square of Egypt

numaish matamDefying cold night of winter, Shia Muslims including women and children continue to stage sit-in to protest against genocide of Shiites in Pakistan.
 
The sit-in that began at 4 p.m. on Friday continues till the filing of this report early on Saturday.
 
“Countrywide operation be launched against the terrorists who perpetrate genocide of Shia Muslims,” demanded Allama Nazir Abbas Taqvi, provincial chapter chief of Shia Ulema Council speaking to the protestors.
 
Maulana Sadiq Raza Taqvi of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen also spoke and vowed that the sit-in would be continued as long as the representative from provincial or federal government reaches the spot to hold negotiations with the Shia leadership.
 
“You see, M.A. Jinnah Road has become Tehir Square due to Shiites protest. Hundreds of thousands of people have gathered here to join sit-in,” said a woman participant who joined protest along with her minor child.
 
Matami anjumans and noha khwan are reciting nohas and Tehir Square of Karachi is reverberating with the slogans of Labbaik Ya Hussain (AS).
