Shiite News: During the trilateral meeting of the interior ministers of Pakistan and Iraq, Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi thanked Iran and said that we have already cooperated and exchanged views regarding Arbaeen pilgrims, and this cooperation is being further expanded in today’s meeting.

He congratulated the Islamic Republic of Iran on its victory against the Zionist regime in the recent 12-day war and said that the Pakistani government strongly condemned the Israeli attacks and recognized Iran’s right to defend itself. The people and government of Pakistan stand by a brotherly country like Iran.

Mohsin Naqvi also thanked Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for his courageous leadership in this war and his steadfastness in the face of the enemy.

He announced that Pakistan is ready for all possible cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq in connection with Arbaeen, as it is a major religious gathering attended by millions of pilgrims and sometimes their stay is prolonged, which is a difficult process to effectively monitor.

The Pakistani Interior Minister said that we fully support all efforts of Iran and Iraq and will not hesitate to provide any kind of cooperation.

We have decided that from January 1, 2026, no Pakistani will be able to leave Iraq without the necessary permits. I request Pakistani pilgrims to keep their passports with them at all times when they arrive in Iraq.

He added that Pakistan will form groups to ensure that all pilgrims who arrive in Iraq in caravans also return with the same caravan.

We will emphasize caravan discipline so that pilgrims adhere to the established limits in Iraq and illegal stay can be prevented. He also thanked Iran and Iraq for hosting millions of pilgrims.

The meeting was also attended by the governors of six border provinces of Iran, including Ilam, Kurdistan, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Sistan and Baluchestan and West Azerbaijan.

The provincial governors also presented their suggestions and opinions regarding the facilitation of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
