Lawyers across the country observed strike against killing of Advocate Ameer Haider

Lawyers across the country observed strike and boycotted court proceedings, on appeal of Pakistan Bar Council, against killing of Advocate Ameer Haider Shah in Karachi. Lawyers did not appear in the court and completely boycotted court proceedings. Court proceedings remain halted at Circuit Bench, Session court and other subsidiary courts in Hayderabad, Sakkhur, Khairpur, Larkana, Mirpur Khas and Nawab Shah. Lawyers of Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Jhang and Gujranwala also condemned the killing of Ameer Haider Shah and demanded that the culprits be given serious punishment. Lawyers of Charsadah, Naushehra, Mardan, Sawat and other areas of KPK also did not appear in courts, as a protest. The same situation was seen in Naseeabad, Hub and many other areas of Balochistan where lawyers also protested against the killing, tied black bands on arms and displayed banners.
