Pak-Iran border to remain open 24 hours for pilgrims during Muharram and Arbaeen, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi

Shiite News: It has been quoted by Pakistani media that in a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, it was agreed that the Pak-Iran border will remain open for pilgrims 24 hours during Arbaeen and Muharram.

The Iranian Interior Minister said that the Iranian government will provide accommodation and food facilities to 5,000 Pakistani pilgrims in Mashhad, and the Iranian government will make special arrangements for the pilgrims from the border to Iraq.

In the meeting, it was decided to establish a hotline for the convenience of pilgrims and to immediately resolve other issues, and it was also agreed to hold a trilateral conference of the Pak, Iranian, and Iraqi Interior Ministries regarding Pakistani pilgrims in Mashhad.

It was also agreed to increase the number of flights for the security of pilgrims, and it was decided to quickly formulate a plan of action in this regard. Mohsin Naqvi and Iskander Momeni also discussed sending pilgrims to Iran and Iraq by sea.

The meeting discussed the promotion of Pak-Iran relations and mutual cooperation in various fields, while increasing cooperation in illegal immigration, human trafficking, and drug control.

Iranian Interior Minister Iskander Momeni said that Iran and Pakistan have excellent relations, Pakistan’s security is important to us, and serving pilgrims is our religious duty.

On this occasion, the release of Iranian fishermen who were unknowingly detained in Pakistani maritime boundaries was also discussed. Upon the request of his Iranian counterpart, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured all possible cooperation.
