MWM takes important decisions on situation in Gilgit-Baltistan

Shiite News: The meeting of the Political Council of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Pakistan Gilgit-Baltistan was held in Gilgit under the leadership of Secretary Political Affairs and Member GB Council Sheikh Ahmed Ali Noori.

The meeting was attended by MWM provincial leader Ghulam Abbas, former member of the assembly Haji Rizwan, Arif Hussain Qanbari, Mutahar Abbas and opposition leader of the GB Assembly Kazim Maisam.

The political situation of Gilgit-Baltistan, law and order, public problems and other important issues were discussed.

It was clarified in the meeting that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have the right to the minerals of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Since last year, there have been attempts to stop the general public from mining through various tactics and now the federal effort to bring in global investors will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

There were already reservations in the Mining and Concession Rule, now no one except the current government members and the governor is aware of the amendment to it.

It is unacceptable to get the policy approved without bringing it to the assembly and making it public.

Minerals are the most important potential of this region which will not be taken away.

Green tourism was also brought against the wishes of the public and if any attempt is made to go further, there will be a widespread public backlash.

Those responsible should correct the ongoing biased and unilateral issues in the province, otherwise protests will be raised at all levels.

Regarding the ongoing atrocities in Gilgit-Baltistan, it seems that all this is happening at the behest of state institutions.

A movement will be launched in collaboration with all parties, rights organizations, action committees and associations of Gilgit-Baltistan regarding minerals and other issues.
