Shiite News: An explosion occurred near a mosque in Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Afghanistan’s northern Balkh province.

The explosion was so severe that the surrounding buildings shook and the windows of vehicles were broken.

Four people were seriously injured and were taken to a nearby hospital, where a woman was confirmed dead.

The hospital administration said that the death toll is likely to increase due to the critical condition of one of the injured.

Taliban authorities cordoned off the area after the explosion. During initial investigation, it was found that the explosion took place in a device installed in the mosque.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast, but ISIS-K has been involved in such incidents since the Taliban took power.

It should be remembered that this mosque in Mazar-e-Sharif belongs to the Shia Hazara community and dozens of people were killed in a blast here in 2022.
