Yasmin Lari rejects Israeli award and $100,000 prize money

Shiite News: Pakistani architect Yasmin Lari has refused to accept the award and $100,000 prize money given by Israel’s Wolf Foundation in a protest against Israeli brutality and supporting the Palestinians.

Talking to the media in this regard, Yasmin Lari said that “she was not aware of this award and had never applied for this award. A few days ago, the Wolf Foundation informed her of the award and $100,000 prize money through an email, which she rejected.” Yasmin Lari has also informed the Israeli NGO Wolf Foundation through a letter.

She wrote in his letter that “I will not accept this award and prize money due to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. For me, all kinds of violence are unacceptable, while the situation of the displaced is currently extremely precarious.” Yasmin Lari said, “We are silent on the Israeli atrocities against the Palestinians, but we will definitely do as much as we can.”

It should be noted that Yasmin Lari has been serving in the field of architecture in Pakistan since 1964.

During this period, she has designed many buildings for government, commercial and economic institutions in Pakistan.

She is currently working for low-cost, zero-carbon and zero-waste environmentally friendly construction.

It should be noted that Yasmin Lari received the Royal Gold Medal in recognition of environmentally friendly construction from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) of the United Kingdom in 2023.

Now she has refused to accept the award from Israel’s Wolf Foundation in support of the Palestinians and protesting against the brutal atrocities of the Zionist government on the residents of Gaza.

Her initiative is being highly appreciated internationally, especially international organizations active in human rights are looking at this initiative with great appreciation.
